Alberto A. Ebanks, Founding Partner

Mr. Ebanks began his legal career in 1994 as an associate at a Long Island law firm responsible for hundreds of Real Estate closings annually on behalf of large institutional clients. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Ebanks was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, where he successfully prosecuted numerous criminal defendants in Bronx Criminal Court.

Mr. Ebanks' criminal practice is expansive and covers both State and Federal courts, with cases in over eleven counties and districts. He has represented hundreds of union members and private clients and has mastered cases from “mischief to murder”. Mr. Ebanks is also responsible for setting precedent at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings and Civil Service Commission in the area of Dole, or drug-testing cases. He is admitted to the Bar of New York State, the United States Supreme Court, the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York.

With over 50 trials under his belt, Mr. Ebanks has developed a reputation for his incisive surgical approach to trial work. He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers’ Association, New York State Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association. Mr. Ebanks has also appeared several times as a guest commentator on Court TV.


Adam B. Sattler, Founding Partner

After graduating from law school in 1993, Mr. Sattler worked as an associate in a busy general practice law firm in Long Island. In 1995 he moved his practice to New York City and became associated with the general counsel’s office representing many law enforcement union members as well as members of the Transport Workers’ Union. While at the firm, Mr. Sattler practiced in many areas of litigation including personal injury, domestic relations, administrative and disciplinary matters, bankruptcy and criminal defense. In time, he was asked to manage the Domestic Relations Department, and was responsible for ensuring that all union members received superior legal representation in their divorce and family court matters.

Since founding the firm, Mr. Sattler has tried and settled numerous matters including personal injury cases, divorce, custody and child support cases, juvenile delinquency matters, civil rights and medical malpractice claims. Mr. Sattler is admitted to the Bar of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the United States Supreme Court and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He has served as a member of Hofstra Law School Alumni Association, the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers’ Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association.


Stephen A. Ricci, Of Counsel

Mr. Ricci joined the firm in January of 2001 after 5 years of law practice with the Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association’s general counsel’s office. As a retired New York City Correction Captain, Mr. Ricci offers a vast and detailed knowledge in the areas of Administrative/Disciplinary and Criminal proceedings. In the practice of law for over 12 years, Mr. Ricci has successfully handled personal injury matters, civil rights litigation, family law cases, entertainment and sports law contracts, and decedent’s estates. In addition to his law degree, Mr. Ricci holds a Masters degree in Special Education and two permanent teaching certifications. Mr. Ricci is also an Adjunct Professor at Nassau Community College.


Erica B. Sattler, Of Counsel

Ms. Sattler is in charge of the firm’s medical malpractice department. Having spent many years defending medical professionals against malpractice claims, Ms. Sattler has developed a keen understanding of the law in this specialized field as well as the medical knowledge to successfully prosecute these cases.

New York resident Cecil Suwal who helped run the prostitution ring in the scandal that brought down former Gov. Eliot Spitzer pleaded guilty to a pair of federal conspiracy charges. Her attorney, Alberto Ebanks, suggested after the hearing that Suwal was naively led into the business by her 62-year-old boyfriend, Mark Brener, the escort service's alleged ringleader.
