After graduating from the City College of New York, John James became a teacher for the NYC Board of Education and subsequently graduated from Brooklyn Law School. During law school, he completed internships with the New York County District Attorney's Office, Bronx County District Attorney's Office, and with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. After his admission to the New York Bar, Mr. James worked as an associate for Walker and Bailey and later started a solo practice. He represented the prevailing party in Meyers v. Sosa, a deed dispute matter featured as a Decision of Interest in the New York Law Journal in December 2006. In May 2005, Mr. James was featured on the Today Show in the case of Francois vs. New York University et al., as plaintiff's counsel in a contract dispute involving the use of reproductive material for in vitro fertilization.
